Hello… Yes, I’m a skincare junkie! And if you are a member of the “Over 50” club, then I am probably not alone when I made that statement. I am always on the hunt for a product that claims it’s going to help me look and feel my absolute best.
I was strolling through Sephora a while back, and I asked for a sample of the Boscia Exfoliating Peel Gel, it retails for $34. I use Retin-A three days a week, so I do occasionally get flaky skin, so when I saw this, I thought I would give it a whirl. I really enjoyed it. It took the dry flaky skin off and left my skin feeling soft and flake free. But, at $34 I wasn’t jumping in the car and running to Sephora anytime soon.
I am not sure how it happened, but I found myself in Target, and of course, I can’t leave without a quick peek into the cosmetic section. It’s like a force from somewhere I can’t explain, that just pulls the cart and my body to the right as I walk in. The elf section was packed with skincare, either I have never noticed it, or my Target never carried it before, but I saw that they had a “Gentle Peeling Exfoliant”, for $10!! How could I not try this?? Let’s get real, I was sipping on a coffee from Starbucks that cost just about the same, so in the basket, it went.
I couldn’t wait to use this! According to the directions, you apply to clean, dry skin, rubbing gently in a circular motion, rinse with warm water and your dead skin cells are supposed to instantly peel off! So, after removing my makeup, cleansing and drying my face I was ready to see if this possibly could be a dupe for the $34 Boscia Peeling Gel.
One and a half pumps is all I used to do my entire face.
OMG! Look at that! I know it looks gross, but it’s sorta like when you pop a pimple, it’s gross, but you like it. Yea, I am totally into this. I was amazed. My skin looked so much brighter, cleaner, and felt so smooth, EXACTLY as it did with the Boscia product. A dupe??? I’m gonna say so! I followed it with a swipe of my favorite alcohol-free toner and continued with my regular night-time regimen. I have been using it about twice a week, and I love the way my skin looks and feels.
Not all skincare has to cost hundreds of dollars. Sometimes you find hidden gems in the drugstore that actually work. Some of the best things you can do for your skin cost pennies; eat right, sleep, drink lots of water and wear sunscreen.
Please share if you have any inexpensive must haves, I’d love to hear about them. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by. See ya next time!
